We have plenty of parking space and can accommodate buses.

We are located in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, just off the A470, between Brecon and Merthyr Tydfil, in a place signed Nant Ddu. For satellite navigation the postcode is CF48 2HY.


From London and the South of England

We are approximately 30 minutes from the M4.

Take the M4 motorway to Junction 32, then head north on the A470 towards Merthyr Tydfil. Then take A470 Brecon. You will come to a place signed 'Nant Ddu'. We are on the right hand side of the road, just up a short farm drive, (white farmhouse on hill, seen off the road) opposite the hotel. 

From the Midlands & the North of England

Take the M5 motorway to the M50, then head to the A40 which leads to Brecon. From Brecon take the A470 towards Cardiff. You will come through a place signed 'Nant Ddu'. We are at the bottom of the hill on the left hand side of the road, opposite the hotel.

Air and Rail

We are approximately 1 hour away from Cardiff International Airport and our nearest railway station is Merthyr Tydfil which is approximately 10 minutes away.


Directions by public transport;

A bus stop is located at the edge of the property, a 5 minute walk from the front door, where you can catch a bus to the Welsh capital Cardiff or other towns in the area. .The T4 Bus runs several times a day during the week and weekends. Access Statement for Coed Owen Bunkhouse


Our drive way is opposite the Nantddu Lodge Hotel entrance grid reference SO 0007915194. The drive is approximately 120 metres long with a slight curve leading you onto the farmyard and gravelled parking area. There is a sign at the bottom of the drive saying ‘Coed Owen Farm’.


Our parking area can take up to 3 mini buses and 12 cars. All parking is within 20 metres of the bunkhouse entrance.


The pathway to the front door is cobbles and flagstones. For wheelchair access, vehicles can pull right up to the entrance (within 5 metres).


We will be here to meet and greet all guests on arrival and will be happy to assist with anything.


All entrances into the main building are via large wooden doors that are 99cm wide. There is a small step at each of these doors, of 15cm up.


The flooring throughout the main building is luxury vinyl tile.  On the ground floor, there are two bedrooms, one double room and a 6-bed dorm. Both doorways are 83cm wide. All top bunks in the building can be removed if necessary. Both rooms have chest of drawers and under bed storage.


A Disabled toilet and shower room are right next door to the ground bedrooms (doorway 91 cm wide) the toilet has support and grab rails fitted and a ground drain for shower.


There is no passageway smaller than 89 cm.


The kitchen and dinning room has hardwearing stainless steel work surfaces, a low-level oven, a fridge and a microwave. There are also three dining tables with space to fit a wheel chair underneath (85cm).


There is one-step of 19cm on the ground floor as you enter the drying room.


All door handles in the building are 100cm up from the floor and all key holes are 95cm up from the floor.

Our nearest public transport is a 5-minute walk down the drive and along a newly tarmac pavement to the bus stop if you want to go in the Merthyr Tydfil and Cardiff direction. If you want to go in the Brecon/Newtown direction then you need to cross the A470 Road and wait outside the hotel entrance.
